PetHobbyist.com supports the responsible, ethical rescue of all kinds of animals,
both companions and wildlife. We provide this listing service only to groups,
organizations and individuals that agree to abide by our code of ethics.
As a PetHobbyist.com registered Code of Ethics rescue organization or shelter, we agree that:
We are operating our group for the welfare of the animals in our care and not for personal profit. Any fees we
charge for adoption or other services go to fund our organization's ongoing work. While we may have paid staff,
our group or shelter is not intended to be a profitable business but a charitable organization. We are a registered
non-profit group or charity, or are working towards becoming one.
We are dedicated both to care of animals and also to educational efforts on behalf of those animals. As part of
this commitment, we provide education and support to those who adopt animals from us.
As an organization, we do not keep, adopt, or provide animals for the purpose of breeding or sale.
We screen our adoptive homes carefully and do not place animals without such screening.
We provide education, training, and support to our volunteers.
We are operating our group according to, and in compliance with, all federal, state, and local pet and/or wildlife
regulations, laws, rules, ordinances, statutes, and codes, and possess the required permits or licences (if applicable).
As an individual posting an adoption ad, I agree that:
I am seeking to re-home a personally owned pet and am not trying to sell
this animal or profit financially from this in any way.
I will carefully screen prospective adoptive homes to ensure the
well-being and health of my pet.
I am placing this animal in accordance with any applicable federal, state,
and local pet and/or wildlife regulations, laws, rules, ordinances,
statutes, and codes.
